Kaitlyn “KK” Marie Fansler

Kaitlyn “KK” Marie Fansler was vibrant, funny, young and full of life. She loved to play card tricks and she performed in 2019 at her 6th grade talent show. She was very proud of that moment! Kaitlyn struggled with her speech and so doing card tricks really helped her with communication.  Kaitlyn was confident, and she loved going to school, playing the cello and learning new things each day. She was very organized, and she had the cleanest bedroom! She loved being with her family; playing video games or board games, shooting archery or baking. She loved riding her bike every day and lifting weights. She was also a typical teenager and enjoyed being around her friends. Kaitlyn learned how to sew and for the first year we all got hand-made presents; what gifts those are now. Kaitlyn had a kind, giving soul. In March 2020, she made masks for elderly people in our neighborhood to help protect them against Covid-19.  

Kaitlyn was in an ATV accident on May 25, 2020, and was life-flighted to Cheyenne, Wyoming along with her little brother. Her brother was released a few hours later and during that time, Kaitlyn was airlifted again to Colorado Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She remained there for 5 days and during that time we made the difficult decision to donate her organs, corneas and tissue. 

Kaitlyn was born October 17, 2006. She had just finished her 7th grade year at Carey Junior High School; she was 13 years old. 

She is survived by her parents, Adam and Sara Fansler. An older sister, Alivia and a little brother Adam. Grandfather, Roy Fansler. Great-grandmother, Mary Valencia. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

    We will love and miss our sweet girl every day! Spreading love, kindness and light! We love you KK. I am so happy to be your auntie! We miss you always and can’t wait to be with you again. In the meantime, we will help others with the loss of a child and honor you! Prayers for Branson’s and Zane’s families as well! We will all help each other every day and anyone else we can. <3
